THE advance of corporatism continues at Number 10 with the appointment of Nick Stace as special adviser on “strategic political comms”. That’s media-speak for thinking ahead. Mr Stace, a digital communications expert, is noted for being a vocal opponent of Government policy so he is suitably qualified for the post. In fact, he boasts that being a Government (for that read Labour party policy) troublemaker was one of the reasons Gordon Brown hired him. Mr Stace’s present job is director of campaigns and communications at Which?, begging an interesting question about the political future.
