BEARDIE champion Keith Flett has ditched support from his Beard Liberation Front for Boris Johnson to win the London mayoralty. He complains that the blonde bombshell’s minders have trimmed his raffish locks and smartened him up to look “just like any other suited candidate” and is instead urging Ken to re-grow his “trademark” moustache. Tribune still maintains that Green candidate Sian Berry, with her long tresses, remains the most hirsute and is therefore being discriminated against. And there is a touch of discrimination too in the BLF’s demand that at least 10 per cent of the City Hall workforce should be bearded unless the quota would be open to both sexes.
