The day after the Glasgow East by-election must have been bad enough for Gordon. Not only was his future looking in grave danger but his younger brother Andrew – who is holidaying with the PM’s family – had just hit the country with the announcement that customers face massive price hikes for electricity and gas this year. Andrew is head of media relations, or, as no doubt he will plead, just the messenger, for the energy supplier EDF. Should be an interesting holiday.
