This is the type of analytical article on Latin America that the Guardian can't seem to produce these days. Punchy in tone, erudite in research and powerful on impact - and from someone who obviously spends a lot of time in Latin America. If Tribune goes bust where are we going to be able to read well researched non-sectarian pieces about developments in that region?

Thank you. How refreshing, unusual, and how much I appreciate reading a report on El Salvador that is so on-target! A rare experience with the multiple articles on El Salvador that are forwarded to me here through Google "Alerts". (Please do not publish my name or website!)
