George Orwell’s son Richard Blair has decided to break the silence of a lifetime to write the story of life under the banner of the author and former literary editor of Tribune. In a poignant account revealing his deep devotion to his famous father, Richard provides a unique insight into Orwell and his own upbringing in an essay to be published online at the end of this month. The story is being published by Finlay, which is dedicated to promote understanding of Orwell and to debate his life and works. It  will be available from 31 January at www.finlay-publisher.com.

The only place you can read all of Tribune's articles as soon as they are published is in the magazine. To find out more about subscribing from as little as £19, click here.

Thank you for this alert. It will answer the question so many of Orwell’s readers have been asking over the years. Does Tribune have a close link with this publisher Finlay? Never heard of them but if they specialise in Orwell and his work they will be well worth exploring, especially as Richard Blair seems to have given them his trust, rather than one of the better known papers.
