WE ALL know about Prince Charles the self-styled “eco-campaigner”, scourge of architects and meddler in Government health policy. But Charles the arms dealer? Anti-monarchist group Republic has levelled a charge of hypocrisy at the king who never will be, claiming that one of his top charities invests in oil, gas and arms. His flagship Foundation for Integrated Health has investments in BP, Shell GlaxoSmithKline and arms manufacturer and trader BAE. Republic spokesman Graham Smith says: “Charles is no friend of the environment, he’s a hypocrite with good PR. To jet around the world preaching the green agenda on one hand, only to have tens of thousands of pounds invested in oil and gas is utter hypocrisy.”
