MEMBERS of Labour’s National Executive Committee are desperately trying to shrug off the term “star chamber” for the panel looking into MPs expenses. “It suggests summary justice conducted in an unfair way against the rules of natural justice and the people on the panel are just not like that”, said one. Maybe not, but it sounds like just the job.
