Do they have no shame (2)? You would have thought Lord Mandy would have steered clear of Corfu after he was exposed greasing it with senior Tories and oligarch Oleg Deripaska. Not a bit of it. After letting it be known that he was to spend his summer break in Britain this year, the First Secretary (etc) flew out to the Greek island last Monday by easyJet, the airline of choice for today’s penny-pinching wealthy. But old habits die hard and there the frugality ends. According to unofficial sources, Mandy has been tempted by an invitation from his chum Nat Rothschild, the financier, to return to the family villa on the island. Natty, who was instrumental in getting Mandy onto Deripaska’s yacht but who fell out with Shadow Chancellor George Osborne after Mandy’s derogatory comments about Gordon Brown were leaked, has apparently promised that there is no possibility of the Business Secretary (etc) bumping into Deripaska this time.
