GMB in legal action threat to Remploy

The GMB union is threatening legal action against bosses at Remploy after pay talks broke down. The union says the state-owned disabled employer has reneged on a promise to pay bonuses to over 2,000 hourly-paid staff.

The GMB union is threatening legal action against bosses at Remploy after pay talks broke down. The union says the state-owned disabled employer has reneged on a promise to pay bonuses to over 2,000 hourly-paid staff.

Remploy has also refused a union demand to pay both hourly-paid staff and salaried managers the same amount in pay rise and bonus. The demand came after bosses insisted they could not afford a pay rise over 1 per cent.

National secretary Phil Davies said: “Why should disabled workers be offered a miserly £2.50 a week when some managers will receive over £20 per week increase?” l
