Conservative leaflets had stamp of approval

Response from Angie Bray, Conservative candidate for Ealing Central and Acton:

“Sorry to disappoint you, but John Street’s diary item about our leaflet and the postage is wildly inaccurate. We sent out no more than a dozen copies with the wrong postage on the envelope – all to contributors to the leaflet. We realised our mistake immediately and rang them all to say we would send out replacement copies so that they did not need to go to pick them up and pay the extra. We are not aware that a single one of them paid for any postage. Every other copy of the leaflet that was printed was either hand-delivered through letterboxes across the constituency or given out with the Ealing Gazette.

“Nice try Tribune, but we had got this one covered immediately at the time.”
