Oppose the cuts and stand together, LRC is told
Delegates to the Labour Representation Committee conference at Conway Hall in London on January 15 pledged “total opposition” to the coalition’s cuts and urged Ed Miliband to stand shoulder to shoulder with the trade union movement in resisting their implementation.

George Binnette, Unison’s Camden branch secretary, said: “One-fifth of all Camden council jobs are up for the chop” and called on Labour councillors across the country to unequivocally oppose the cuts.
Delegates reaffirmed their commitment to retaining their link with the Labour Party and Fire Brigades Union general secretary Matt Wrack called for “an end to sectarianism on the left in order to more effectively fight the Con-Dem Government”.
