Unite said it would return to its cabin crew members after BA told the Electoral Reform Society that its most recent strike ballot was unlawful and any industrial action would not be legally protected.
Its general secretary Len McCluskey accused BA of “bullying tactics” and of launching a “legal blitz” against the ERS. He predicted that in the absence of talks his union would give formal notice of a fresh ballot to the airline by the end of next week.
